tonight's best bets

"The Walt Disney World Christmas Day Parade," 9 a.m. on ABC. Disney characters parade down the Magic Kingdom's Main Street, U.S.A.; Miley Cyrus, Billy Ray Cyrus, the Jonas Brothers, Corbin Bleu, David Cook, Sarah Brightman and Jose Feliciano are scheduled to perform.

"A Christmas Story," Noon on TBS. A 9-year-old (Peter Billingsly) craves a BB gun for Christmas but everyone around him is strongly opposed to the idea in Jean Shepherd's nostalgic charmer.

"Bad Santa," 8 p.m. on Comedy Central. Unrated version of "Bad Santa," the warped, crudely funny comedy about a boozy con artist (Billy Bob Thornton) who robs the department stores where he works as St. Nick. John Ritter is great in his last film as a store's nervous manager.

"Alvin and the Chipmunks," 8 p.m. on HBO. Rodent brothers Alvin, Simon and Theodore, with lovely (though high-pitched) singing voices, become recording stars in this chipper blend of CGI animation and live action. Jason Lee stars as their songwriting pal Dave Seville. The chipmunks voices are supplied by Justin Long, Matthew Gray Gubler and Jesse McCartney.
