GRAYS HARBOR COUNTY: Elma man accused of incest with daughter

Grays Harbor Sheriff's deputies arrested a 37-year-old Elma man Thursday for allegedly having sex with his adult biological daughter.

Undersheriff Rick Scott said the woman recently reported the sexual relationship, saying it occurred during the summer. The man has been booked on suspicion of incest.

The man, who is not being named to protect the identity of his daughter, has a sex offense from the 1990s in his criminal history, Scott said. He recently was relieved of his requirement to register as a sex offender.

In interviews with investigators, the daughter said they engaged in sexual acts involving bondage and fantasy, Scott said. The man argued he had not hurt anyone and should face no more charges than his daughter.

“He doesn’t see anything wrong with this,” Scott said. “He obviously has no ability to comprehend what he was doing.”

The daughter later found a way to leave the home, Scott said. She reported the relationship after a friend urged her to do so.

The man is being held without bail in the Grays Harbor County Jail.
