A Washington State Patrol trooper and a Napavine police officer arrested an Olympia man on suspicion of driving while intoxicated early Sunday morning after an alert Lewis County driver called 911, according to a news release.

According to the release:

The caller was on Rush Road just off Interstate 5 in Lewis County and said the driver of a 1998 Hyundai was either asleep or passed out at the wheel at the intersection of Rush Road and Kirkland Road. The caller said the driver of the Hyundai then headed east on Kirkland Road, but stopped in a wide gravel area after almost hitting a telephone pole.

The driver was subsequently pulled over and arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs.

During the stop, the driver gave false information about his identity. Several false identification cards were found on him, as well as drug paraphernalia, several syringes and a glass pipe.
