Kristi Shannon struck out 12 and didn't give up a hit to help Capital defeat its crosstown rival.
With the score tied 2-2, Capital scored five runs in the fifth inning to blow the game open.
"Shannon threw a strong game," Olympia coach Matt Loes said. "Their pitcher is good."
Nicole Glenn went 2-for-3 for the Cougars, who outhit Olympia 7-0.
Baseball
Olympia 5, Bellarmine 3
Olympia learned and recovered from its road loss against Bellarmine Wednesday to win and split their 4A Narrows Bay series with the Lions.
"It showed good character on our part not to have any carryover," Olympia coach Todd McDougall said. "We clearly didn't have any negative effects."
Kramer Skidmore led Olympia's offense, hitting 3-for-4 at the plate with three stolen bases. On the mound, Adam Conley (4-0) earned the win for the Bears.
"Having Adam on the mound gives our guys confidence," McDougall said.
Olympia opened the game in the first inning with a 3-0 lead before recording an out.
RIVER RIDGE 4, BLACK HILLS 2
Errors were the major reason why River Ridge won this 2A Evergreen Converence game, and the Wolves lost.
"They had an unearned run in the first inning, and two in the fourth," Black Hills coach Lem Elway said. "If we don't make four errors, we probably win the game.
"They were all pretty critical errors, and you can't be a good team if you make them."
Elway also said his team failed to get "magical" hits with runners in scoring position in the fifth inning, and with the bases loaded in the sixth.
Northwest Christian 4, Ocosta 2
Nathan Burres and Preston Turk combined for a one-hitter, helping Northwest Christian beat last year's league champs in nine innings.
In the top of the ninth, Turk singled in the winning run for a 3-2 lead. Ryan Heinz scored on a fielder's choice for an insurance run.
Burress struck out 10, walked five and gave up one hit. Turk picked up the win as he pitched two scoreless innings.
"They won it last year and we were runnerup, so this is a big win," Northwest Christian assistant coach Todd Burres said. "We were happy to get a win at their place."
