Rosey Fletcher is going out on top, and she deserves it.

Fletcher, who won bronze in the alpine snowboarding parallel giant slalom last month in the Torino Winter Olympics, won the parallel slalom Sunday in the North American Alpine Snowboard Finals at Crystal Mountain.

Fletcher caught an edge during qualifying for Saturday's parallel giant slalom and didn't make the finals, but she came back on Sunday.

Fletcher was a champ all weekend to her fellow snowboarders and fans. She happily talked to everyone and autographed lots of posters for fans. Fletcher is a world-class athlete, but she's also a regular person who just happens to burn down hills on a snowboard.

Fletcher is now retired and plans to finish college in Alaska and get married. It's good to see her leave her sport on top.
