Kid anglers need your help tonight!

I just found out that the folks who are putting on the Lacey Family Fish-in at Long's Pond this Saturday need help from anglers, and they need it tonight -- Monday night.

Volunteers have to rig up the 650 rods and reels that the kids will use to catch trout -- and later take home -- on Saturday. It's basically a night of tying on hooks, pinching on sinkers and clipping on bobbers.

There is pizza and pop for volunteers, but the real reward is making a special day happen for 650 kids.

The rod building session starts at 6 p.m. in the white house right next to Long's Pond, which is at Woodland Creek Community Park, 6535 Pacific Ave.
