Allen added to All-Star roster

The Associated Press

NEW YORK - Ray Allen is an All-Star again.

The Seattle SuperSonics star was chosen Tuesday by NBA commissioner David Stern as an injury replacement for the All-Star game.

Allen, who is averaging a career-high 26.9 points per game, will replace Phoenix Suns guard Steve Nash for Sunday's game in Las Vegas. It's the fourth straight year and seventh time overall that Allen has been an All-Star.

Stern also chose Utah center Mehmet Okur to replace injured Denver guard Allen Iverson.

"It's always a great honor to represent my team and our city at the All-Star Game," Allen said. "As an athlete, I cherish these opportunities to be recognized along with the league's best and to continue the Sonics' proud All-Star tradition."
