About the game: While it's only the third game of the season, this is a crucial Evergreen Conference game for both schools. Chehalis, which beat R.A. Long 27-9 last week, has been successful running the football. River Ridge will have to figure out how to stop the run and use a ball-control offense to keep Chehalis off the field.

About Chehalis: In last week's victory, the Bearcats had a pair of 100-yard rushers. Quarterback Griffin Squires rushed for 112 yards, averaging nearly nine yards a carry. Drew Johnson rushed for 160 yards on just 18 carries. Chehalis ran for 336 yards and finished with 409 yards in total offense.

About River Ridge: The Hawks lost starting quarterback Josh Rood on their second possession of a 31-0 loss to North Thurston last week. Rood is out with a broken collarbone. Ross Creamer showed promise as Rood's replacement. River Ridge was its own worst enemy as it fumbled seven times and lost three. The Hawks were held to just 59 yards rushing. After scoring 13 points in the first quarter of the Hawks' season opener against Timberline, River Ridge has not scored in the past seven quarters.
