Kreidler: at least Im younger than that old guy
Sat through interviews with the candidates for lieutenant governor, insurance commissioner, and the challenge for secretary of state this morning. A full digest, but here's a couple tidbits.Asked Insurance Commissioner Mike Kreidler, who's been in that office for two terms and will be 65 by election time, if this is the last round-up.Youre not the first person to ask that. I always judge it when I get to the end, but John McCain is so much older than I am, he said. And this segues nicely into what I've spent all afternoon and some of the morning doing, which is talking to people about Sen. Barack Obama ahead of his historic nomination tomorrow as the first non-white to top a major presidential ticket. It'll all be out tomorrow, with video, but here's some of what I heard from Thomas Sayan, 24 of Lacey:"I'm a rapper, and Obama he respects the Hip hop generation. He can relate to people on our level. And I dont think John McCain can relate to us. I grew up poor, had no money. Im hoping he can look at people who are living at poverty level, or living under the poverty level like me. Im hoping he can, you know, give us some help. Help kids grow up to be financially stable."
