That was Rep. Williams' final campaign?
Rep. Brendan Williams apparently wants to go out on a high note. He has massive amounts of loot in his campaign war chest, is running unopposed as a "Progressive Dem," and
generally has it all. So it's somewhat odd that this is how he’s advertising his election-night party at an Olympia restaurant:

This is my final House campaign, so let's return to where it all began with my first 2004 steering committee meeting "It's not a trick, but perhaps a treat for some one else," said Williams today.
Williams has been frustrated by the Legislature before, especially in trying to pass his homeowner's bill of rights. But he said this isn't a case of burnout or planning for a run at another office.
"Maybe I'll live the life of an everyday citizen. I'm a person who believes the highest title a person who can wear is everyday citizen and maybe it’s time I wear it," he said. "I probably have no greater contempt than I do for the career politician or political career, because working men and women toil outside of politics."
And as a working stiff, Williams noted, he could sock away savings for his son's education.
Going into a session without planning on his next campaign is "liberating," he added. "I think it's important for citizens to see that those that represent them are interested in serving forever in politics. The least interesting part of politics has been the pomp and circumstance of it all. Too much time is spent in self-congratulation and not enough listening to people."
