How long has this election been running? At least four years on the governor’s side (five, if you count 2004) and just about that long on the presidential side. And here we are, the climax. Love it. And as all storytellers can attest, we can’t just have a bang at the end. We need tension; we need drama right up to the last, then the big reveal, followed by a cathartic, five-minute reexamination of ourselves and our nation.

Then we’re off to 2012! (Unless you count the Sarah Palin for 2012 speculation, which started a while ago)

So what’s the plan, Stan? Well first off, not waiting in lines all over Pierce County. That is so 2004. Mail-in-ballots means no lines, except maybe at the county court house. (For last minute voting instructions see here.)

We’re going to try and keep the blog rolling all night long, and cross-post over at The Politics Blog, so you don’t have to click all over the Internet.

Here we go. East Coast polls closing in a just a few minutes…
