TUMWATER – Mayoral candidate Pete Kmet plans a fundraiser Wednesday at Tumwater Historical Park to kick off his campaign.

Current mayor Ralph Osgood has endorsed Kmet and is hosting the 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. event, Kmet said Monday. The campaign is serving ice cream. Kmet, the city’s deputy mayor, plans to talk with friends and supporters. There is no admission fee; donations are accepted.

Also running for the nonpartisan seat are councilmembers Joan Cathey and Neil McClanahan, Justin Kover and David Raatz.
