Olympia City Council member Jeff Kingsbury received the 2009 Pride Day award at last weekend’s Capital City Pride event.

Kingsbury is seeking re-election to Position 5 on the council. His campaign announced the award, saying he was singled out for his service on the council, his support of the state domestic partnership bill for same-sex couples and “years of nonprofit service to the community.’’

His opponents in the Aug. 18 primary are Stephen Buxbaum and Janine Gates.
