Clark County has been chosen as the site of the Washington state Republican Party’s convention next year.

Clark County GOP Chairman Ryan Hart announced the party’s decision Tuesday and said he was thrilled. The June 10-12 convention is expected to draw as many as 1,800 delegates and generate at least $1 million in local business.

The Columbian reports that Vancouver competed against Seattle, Tacoma/Pierce County, Snohomish and Bellevue for the event.
