The following projects are expected to affect traffic in the coming week, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation, the city of Olympia and Fort Lewis.
South Thurston County: Bridge construction and permanent barrier placement will create rolling slowdowns and delays of up to five minutes between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Interstate 5 between Grand Mound and Maytown. One of two on-ramps to southbound I-5 from U.S. Highway 12 is closed; drivers should use the southbound loop on-ramp previously used only by westbound drivers on U.S. 12.
Lacey: Curb and drainage installation will close the shoulder in both directions of Martin Way at I-5 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. weekdays.
South Thurston County: Alternating lanes will be closed on state Route 121 at Carney Road Southeast, near Millersylvania State Park, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today through Friday.
Olympia: Emergency tree removal will close Legion Way between Eastside and Quince streets from 8 a.m. to about 1 p.m. today.
Fort Lewis: A 900-foot section of 150th Street Southwest will be closed today through Nov. 21 for repair and resurfacing. The affected road is near the Fort Lewis cantonment area and connects with the Perimeter Road, which runs between Fort Lewis and McChord Air Force Base. The Fort Lewis and McChord gates near 150th Street Southwest will remain open.
