Today and Saturday: The state Fish and Wildlife Commission is meeting at the Natural Resources Building. On the agenda are a vote on hatchery and fishery reform policy and a briefing on proposed fishing rule changes. The commissioners also are to meet with the governor today.

All weekend: The state Department of Fish and Wildlife has stocked 2,500 one-pound rainbow trout into Black Lake, and fishing should be hot and heavy for these fish.

All weekend: The Western Washington modern firearm hunting season for elk continues through this entire weekend and ends on Nov. 17.
