MASON COUNTY – Several new groups of people are eligible to get H1N1 vaccine in Mason County, according to a news release from the Mason County commissioners.

The following groups now qualify: pregnant women; young people 6 months to 24 years old; health care workers and emergency medical personnel; people who care for children younger than 6 months; people ages 25 to 64 who have chronic medical conditions; and home health care providers for chronically ill people.

The vaccine will be available at pharmacies and grocery stores that offer seasonal flu shots. Mason County Public Health and Mason General Hospital will offer the vaccine at a walk-in clinic from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Shelton Family Medicine, 939 Mountain View Drive, No. 100. The clinic will be open to all Mason County residents in the priority groups who have no medical provider or cannot afford to pay for the vaccine-administration fee. For more information, call the Mason County flu line at 360-427-9670, ext. 599, or go to www.co.mason.wa.us.
