  The Central District Health Department presented Boise Mayor David Bieter and the Boise City Council with the district’s Leadership in Public Health award for recently passing a pair of ordinances that ban smoking in bars, sidewalk cafes, bus stops, city property and the park system.

  Russ Duke, head of CDHD, applauded the city leaders for taking steps to protect public health. He also spoke of the importance of protecting the employees of businesses who would otherwise have to work in environments where they are exposed to second-hand smoke.
