The following projects are expected to affect South Sound traffic in the coming week, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

South Thurston County: Shaft drilling and concrete pouring will close a lane from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. today through Wednesday in each direction of Interstate 5, from the Thurston-Lewis County line to 113th Avenue Southwest.

Lacey: Wall construction is planned from 9 p.m. to 9 a.m. daily through Thursday at Martin Way and I-5. Also, the shoulder is closed in both directions of Martin Way at I-5 24 hours a day, and pedestrian access on westbound Martin Way is restricted.

South Thurston County: Sweeping of the inside median wall on I-5 could create delays from state Route 121 to Capitol Boulevard. The work will be done from 10:30 p.m. Wednesday to 4:30 a.m. Thursday.

McKenna: Utility work will close a lane of state Route 702 at 31st Avenue South from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.
