What: While the University of Washington football team is out of town playing Arizona State this weekend, there will still be plenty of activity at Husky Stadium. The stadium is site of the Dawg Dash. Run 5 or 10 kilometers or choose the 5-kilometer walk. The course winds through the UW campus.
Where: Husky Stadium
When: 9:30 a.m. Sunday
History: This is the 24th Dawg Dash, which is sometimes part of UW’s homecoming week. However, this year’s event is a week before the Huskies homecoming game against Oregon.
Getting there: From Interstate 5 north of downtown Seattle take the Highway 520 exit. Take the first exit on Montlake Boulevard, and turn left. The stadium will be on your right.
Cost: $35, $25 for UW Alumni Association members and $20 for UW students.
Of note: The event includes a free kids’ run at 10:45 a.m. during a post-run party in Husky Stadium. The party starts at 10 a.m. Registration opens at 8 a.m. at the northwest corner of the stadium. All runners will wear a microchip to be timed. An awards ceremony is at 11 a.m. There is a $30 fee for failing to return the microchip after the race.
