Police try to find owners of items stolen from cars

LACEY - Lacey police are trying to reunite victims with their property after tracking software on a stolen laptop led police to a treasure trove of stolen goods in a Tumwater motel room.

Lacey Police Detective Bev Reinhold said the items include Nintendo video game systems, cell phones, iPods, GPS systems, cameras, gift cards and high-end purses by Coach, Guess and Juicy Couture.

All are believed to have been stolen from vehicles between September and Dec. 21, she said.

Lacey police arrested Todd Bridges, 28, on suspicion of second-degree possession of stolen property at the Tumwater Motel 6 on Dec. 21 when they served a search warrant on the motel room and recovered the stolen goods.

Bridges has 15 prior felony convictions for crimes including assault, eluding police, unlawful imprisonment and delivering a controlled substance, court papers state.

As of Wednesday, Bridges was being held at the Thurston County Jail, with bail set at $20,000.

The items are thought to have been taken at locations up the Interstate 5 corridor as far north as King County.
