Postseason hoops has arrived -- for the smallest of classifications.
The sub-district tournament in the 1B Pacific Coast League tips off tonight for the girls, and Tuesday for the boys. The Oakville girls team, the No. 2 seed from the PCL, will host Taholah at 7 p.m. Monday. The Oakville boys, league champions of the PCL by a coin flip, will host Mary M. Knight at 7 p.m. Tuesday. The Owls, led by Sean Sexton and James Kiliz, made a late-season surge to earn the fourth and final playoff berth.
Here's the 1B sub-district schedule (Winner-to-district, loser-out games):
MONDAY, Girls basketball
No. 4 Lake Quinault at No. 1 Wishkah Valley, 7 p.m.
No. 3 Taholah at No. 2 Oakville, 7 p.m.
Winners of those games move on to play in a district seeding game Wednesday at the higher seeded site.
TUESDAY, Boys basketball
No. 4 Mary M. Knight at No. 1 Oakville, 7 p.m.
No. 3 Lake Quinault at No. 2 Taholah, 7 p.m.
Winners of those games move on to play in a district seeding game Thursday at the higher seeded site.
Top two boys and girls teams advance to the District IV 1B tournament, which begins next Monday, Feb. 15 at Lower Columbia College against the top teams from the Columbia Valley League.
