Educator wins environmental award

Thurston County Public Works educator Colleen Uuereb received a 2009 outstanding environmental educator award from the Environmental Education Association of Washington.

Uuereb was recognized for environmental education in schools, reaching some 3,000 students in the 2008-09 school year with programs on recycling, composting, litter control, household hazardous waste reduction and other environmentally friendly activities.
