The nominations period for the Citizen Service Above Self Honors closes Friday. The Citizen Service Above Self Honors recognizes and honors ordinary Americans who have become extraordinary through courage and selflessness. Nominate a citizen hero by completing the online form found at www.citizenserviceaboveselfhonors.org.

The Congressional Medal of Honor Society, consisting exclusively of America’s fewer than 100 living Medal of Honor recipients, encourages individuals to nominate any citizen who has clearly demonstrated a willingness to sacrifice for others whether through a single act of extraordinary heroism at risk to one’s life or through a prolonged series of selfless acts on behalf of their fellow citizens. The nominee’s actions must epitomize the concept of “service above self” and must be performed “above and beyond” one’s professional area of responsibility or conduct.

National finalists will be announced March 9.
