State takes action on health care providers

February 14, 2010

The Washington State Department of Health took disciplinary actions or withdrew charges against the following health care providers in December.

In Thurston County, the Registered Counselor Program reinstated the registration of Michael E. Dassow. Also, the Nursing Assistant Program granted the application of Haviela S. Patino and placed her registration on probation for one year. She was convicted of assault.

In Grays Harbor County, the Medical Commission charged physician Jeffrey Wong with unprofessional conduct. He allegedly had aberrant and hostile behavior toward hospital administration and showed poor conduct and behavior toward staff members, as well as certain patient-care situations at the hospital.

For information about health care providers, go to www.doh.wa.gov and click “Provider Credential Search” on the left side of the page. People who think a health care provider acted unprofessionally can call 360-236-4700 to report their complaint.
