Getting there: Take Interstate 90 east to Exit 52 for Summit West and Alpental.
History: The Outdoors For All Foundation provides year-round outdoor recreation instruction for people with physical, developmental and sensory disabilities. The group’s programming includes snowboarding, snowshoeing, cross-country and downhill skiing, cycling, hiking, river rafting, canoeing and kayaking, day camps, water skiing, rock-climbing and camping. In 2009, the event drew more than 500 people and brought in more than $40,000.
Cost: $79 for individuals and $1,000 for teams. Participants get unlimited use of ski, snowboard and snowshoe demo gear, a day lift ticket, event T-shirt, continental breakfast, Red Robin lunch and entrance into the apres ski party complete with beer garden, music and chances to win prizes.
