Several local law enforcement agencies will have extra officers on patrol this weekend to target impaired drivers, according to a news release from Target Zero Thurston.

At least two additional officers will be on patrol Friday through Sunday from the Washington State Patrol, Lacey police, Tenino police, Tumwater police and Yelm police.

The program is funded by the Washington Traffic Safety Commission. The Washington State Patrol will use a vehicle equipped with three instruments that measure blood-alcohol content, holding cells and troopers who will complete DUI processing. The unit will be in the Southgate Drug Parking lot in Tumwater.

For more information about the mobile facility, call Sgt. Robert Sharp at 206-720-3018. For more information about Thurston County’s Target Zero Program and Task Force, call Brittany Sill at 360-239-3445.
