Thurston County will continue to follow up on leads for missing woman Shantina "Kat" Smiley and her son, Azriel J. Carver, but no search parties will head out today, said Thurston County Chief Criminal Deputy James Chamberlain.

Smiley and Carver were last seen at about 10 p.m. Saturday.

Chamberlain said he believes search parties covered the area were Smiley and Carver were last seen well.

“It’s not pointing us in a particular way,” Chamberlain said.

Calling of the large scale search gives search parties chance to rest and prepare for another search if the department gets useful information, Chamberlain said.

The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office asks anyone with information about Shantina “Kat” Smiley and Azriel J. Carver’s whereabouts to call 360-786-5500, Crime Stoppers at 360-493-2222, or 911.
