14 arrested during DUI emphasis patrol

A stepped-up effort to arrest people on suspicion of DUI during and after St. Patrick's Day netted 14 arrests, according to the Target Zero Program and Task Force.

According to the task force:

Eleven Target Zero law enforcement officers in Thurston County worked overtime over the weekend, stopping 127 drivers for unsafe driving. Nine were arrested Saturday on suspicion of DUI.

The emphasis patrol was funded by the Washington Traffic Safety Commission. Lacey, Tenino, Tumwater and Yelm police took part, as well as the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office and the Washington State Patrol.
