Judge OKs Linehan's mother as third-party custodian

Sandy McWilliams, Mechele Linehan's mother, Wednesday was added to the list of third-party custodians approved to monitor Linehan, who faces a second murder trial.

The defendant also recently asked Superior Court Judge Philip Volland for more flexibility with her bail conditions, which include putting her and her third-party under house arrest for all but two four-hour blocks a week.

Volland denied her request but on Wednesday said he would be willing to revisit the issue later, suggesting in about six months. Linehan's new trial is not yet scheduled. Her first conviction was thrown out by a higher court.
