Agency notifies of work that may cause backups
Brian Sandford, staff writerThe following projects are expected to affect traffic in the coming week, according to the state Department of Transportation. Rainier: Asphalt repair will close a lane of southbound state Route 507 between Old Weyerhaeuser Railroad Bridge and Waddell Road Southeast from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday. Elbe: Asphalt inlay will close a lane of westbound state Route 706 at Elbe from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday. Elma: Vegetation maintenance is planned in both directions on U.S. Highway 12 between Elma and the Black River bridge from 7 a.m.- 4 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. McCleary: Road repair will close a lane of state Route 108 in McCleary from 7 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday. Pe Ell: Paving with chip seal will close the sidewalks during the day Monday through Friday in the Pe Ell area. Monday through Thursday, daytime traffic will be intermittently reduced to a single lane between the Interstate 5 interchange and Pe Ell.
