H&R Block hiring event planned for Friday

Tax preparation company H&R Block is looking to hire about 10 tax preparers at a hiring event from 10 a.m.-noon Friday at Westfield Capital mall. The event will be inside the mall, near the movie theaters.

Applicants are asked to prepare and come dressed for an interview. The jobs pay $9.50 per hour, and medical coverage is available. Paid training starts the last week of October, and the jobs can last up to 150 days. Working hours range from 18 to 35 hours a week.

Applicants must have a high school degree or GED, pass a criminal background check and complete the paid tax preparation training.
