A 25-year-old Oregon woman was injured Wednesday morning when the 2005 Jeep Liberty she was driving collided with a 2003 Freightliner semi on state Route 8 at Old Olympic Highway.

According to the State Patrol:

Carmen M. Winkle was driving a Jeep west and collided with the trailer of the semi, which also was westbound. The truck driver, Paul K. Yeboah, 48, of Seattle, was not injured. An infant in the Jeep was not injured. The crash happened at 7:57 a.m.

Winkle was transported to Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia.

Westbound state Route 8 was blocked for a short time while troopers set up a detour around the scene. The cause of the crash is under investigation; alcohol and/or drugs were not involved, according to the State Patrol.
