If you've ever bagged groceries, you know that the eggs and the bread go on top, and the boxes go on the bottom of the bag.

And if you’re currently bagging groceries, now’s your chance to shine.

The Washington Food Industry Association put out a call this week for contestants who would like to compete in its annual Best Bagger contest.

According to a WFIA news release, the state’s Best Bagger championships will be held Oct. 21, beginning at 3 p.m. at the Doubletree Hotel at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.

The public is welcome to attend, and details on how to enter the contest are available at www.wa  food-ind.org  . The deadline for entries is Oct. 5.

In addition to winning $1,500, the state’s best bagger will get the chance to compete in the grocery industry’s National Bag-Off in February.
