More than 1,000 different online Microsoft computer courses are now available – free – to Washington residents who want to improve their skills.

According to a news release Thursday, the state Employment Security Department has signed a contract with Microsoft to make online courses available to people who register with the state’s WorkSource career-development system.

When they register, WorkSource customers will be asked to choose from among six e-learning plans:

• Microsoft Office collection 2003.

• Microsoft Office collection 2007.

• Microsoft Office collection 2010.

• Desktop collections (Office and Windows operating systems).

• Technical training for IT professionals.

• Digital literacy (for computer beginners).

Each plan covers the full array of Microsoft programs within the collection.

There is no limit on the number of people who can register, and courses are available in multiple languages.

To register for free Microsoft E-Learning, visit www. Go2WorkSource. com or contact a local WorkSource office .
