Dog park appreciated, not lines in road

There was a good reason to cheer as the Sunrise Park dog park section was opened. A happier bunch of citizens and their best buddies, their canine supporters, would be hard to find.

Dog-shaped biscuits and cookies were passed out to appreciative humans and dogs with nary a mix-up.

The dog park is one more example of the wonders that can be created when communities come together for mutual benefit.

Five years of work went into its creation, and Lynn Scroggins at the helm steered the volunteer team to success. I’d list their names, but there is a word limit for letters to the editor.

On the way to the gala opening, there was one thing to “boo.” How come all the newly painted stripes on the roads are totally messed up?

Why doesn’t the road crew make sure it’s dry before opening it up to traffic? What a disaster.

Maybe the city should buy a different brand of paint that dries faster.

Whatever. It should be corrected.
