Sea-Tac 5th in world in on-time takeoffs

Seattle-Tacoma International Airport was among the top ranks of major world airports last month for on-time departures, new figures from Portland's FlightStats.com  show.

More than 86 percent of the airport’s flight’s in October departed on time, FlightStats said. That showing ranked fifth among the world’s 50 busiest airports for departures.

Topping the list was Tokyo’s Haneda Airport, with 94.1 percent performance. Two other American airports, Houston’s Bush, and Charlotte, were among the top five.

SeaTac-based Alaska Airlines finished second among U.S. major carriers for on-time performance in October with 87.43 percent of its flights arriving on time. United Airlines had 89.09 percent of its flights on time.
