Female jogger fights off attacker in Seattle's Colman Park Tuesday

The Seattle police said a man jumped a 44-year-old woman who was jogging in Colman Park Tuesday evening but she was able to fight him off and escape suffering only minor injuries.

Officers responded to the scene near Lake Washington Blvd. S. and Lake Park Dr. S. around 5:12 p.m. According to their investigation, the unknown assailant came up behind the victim and grabbed her clothing, knocking her to ground. She landed on her back and the man got on top of her. She kicked and screamed and eventually was able to break free and ran off. She sustained a bloody nose and scratches during the altercation. Seattle Fire Department medics treated the victim at the scene and released her.

Police searched the area but were unable to find the attacker. The suspect is described as a black man, in his twenties to thirties, approximately five feet, eight inches tall, 170 pounds, clean-shaven and was carrying a bag.
