NatureBridge wins $50,000 grant

The first $50,000 Mary Anderson Legacy Grant has been awarded to NatureBridge, the largest residential environmental education partner of the National Park Service.

The REI Foundation grant was established in recognition of REI co-founder Mary Anderson. The money will assist NatureBridge’s efforts to introduce more children to the natural world.

NatureBridge’s states its mission as connecting youth to nature and inspire responsible actions to sustain it. Since 1971, NatureBridge has had nearly 1 million students go through its environmental education programs.

The organization’s residential programs put students across California and Washington in inquiry-based science and research to help them develop the skills, knowledge and motivation needed to become environmental stewards.
