A Ruby Tuesday restaurant in Lacey has closed because it was considered an underperforming location, a spokeswoman for the Tennessee-based company said Tuesday.

The company also has closed locations in Lakewood, University Place and Puyallup, Hammond said. All four were franchise operations.

“The sales performance didn’t justify their continued operation,” spokeswoman Meridith Hammond said. The restaurant’s last day in business was Sunday, she said

The Ruby Tuesday at 8125 Quinault Drive N.E. was open for nine years, said general manager Linda Carl, adding that she helped open it. Employees were on hand Monday and Tuesday to close it down. Nobody will be in the building today, she said. About 35 employees were affected by the closure.
