Weekend getaway: Crystal Snowshoe Tour

What: You can do more than ski at Crystal Mountain. Why not try a two-hour Saturday evening snowshoe trip? The guided tour in the South Country includes a fondue dinner in the lodge.

When: Check in at the rental shop at 3:15 p.m., tour begins at 3:45 p.m.

Where: Crystal Mountain

History: This is the fourth season Crystal has offered snowshoe tours, which run through the middle of March.

Activities: Snowshoeing and a bite to eat

Getting there: Follow state Route 410 though Enumclaw and Greenwater to Crystal Mountain Boulevard. Turn left and continue until the road ends in Crystal’s parking lot.

Cost: $30 if you have your own snowshoes, $50 including a rental

Also: Space is limited. Call ahead for reservations. The tours start when skiing stops with a ride up the Quicksilver chairlift. Dinner includes salad, cheese fondue and dessert.
