The highlight of the event is a slalom race with time deductions given based on the age of your gear. For more information, go to www.ridestevenspass.com.

 • Today is the final day to enter submissions in the White Pass Film Festival. The two- to five-minute skiing or snowboarding videos will be screened at the April 9 festival with prizes for the winners.

Go to www.skiwhitepass.com for more information.

 • Crystal Mountain’s 2011-12 season passes go on sale today. The gold and bronze passes – $799 and $599 for adults, respectively – enable skiers to hit the slopes for free for the rest of the season. White Pass and Summit at Snoqualmie offer similar deals.

 • Avalanche warnings were in effect earlier this week. Visit the Northwest Weather and Avalanche Center at nwac.us for an avalanche report before skiing in the backcountry. The National Weather Service is predicting snow in the mountains through the weekend.
