MOUNT SI, Wash. - The King County Sheriff's office says the body of a man in his 50s has been found in the Snoqualmie River about a half mile from the Mount Si trailhead.

Sgt. John Urquhart says the victim's car was found Friday afternoon at the trailhead and that discovery prompted the search.

Officers in a helicopter spotted the body in the water around 7:40 p.m. The body was recovered by the sheriff's marine unit and turned over to the King County medical examiner.

Urquhart says the medical examiner will release the cause of death and the man's identify next week. He says foul play is not suspected.
