Seattle Storm gets WNBA's No. 3 all-time scorer

The Seattle Storm acquired veteran guard Katie Smith, center Jacinta Monroe and a 2012 WNBA draft pick in a three-team trade with Washington and Indiana.

Smith, 37, is the third-leading scorer in WNBA history. She averaged 9.5 points a game last season with Washington. Monroe averaged 2.1 points a game as a rookie last season.

Seattle, which received Indiana’s 2012 second-round draft pick, sent rookie guard Jasmine Thomas – the 12th pick in this year’s draft out of Duke – to Washington and sent guard Erin Phillips and a 2012 third-round pick to Indiana.
