A Shelton man is recovering after he was stabbed during an alcohol-fueled dispute Saturday night, according to the Mason County Sheriff’s Office.

Also according to the Sheriff’s Office:

Walter J. Henry, 31, and his friend Fernando Rodriguez, 46, also of Shelton, got into a fight at a home on Southeast Skalapin Lane. Squaxin Island Police Department officers found Henry on the floor with stab wounds when they responded about 10:30 p.m. Mason County deputies used a K-9 unit to search the area shortly thereafter.

The dog found Rodriguez, who was arrested and booked into the Mason County Jail on charges of first-degree assault. Rodriguez is being held with bail set at $250,000.

Henry was expected to be released Tuesday from Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia.
