LACEY – A Lacey woman found an intruder in her kitchen after she was awakened by her dog barking about 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to the Lacey Police Department.

The woman, who lives on Lake Hills Street, told the man to leave and called 911, Lt. Phil Comstock said.

Also according to Comstock:

The man left and later was spotted walking in the area of 58th Avenue and Stockton Street, carrying a coffee cup from the woman’s home. The woman later identified him as the burglar.

Mario Delacruz, 31, was arrested on suspicion of residential burglary. Comstock said it’s possible the man, who was highly intoxicated, mistook the woman’s home for another residence.

Officers found that someone had entered the home by prying open a sliding door.
