Port invests in Bucoda, Yelm projects

May 18, 2011

The Port of Olympia economic development corporation will invest in Bucoda and Yelm projects as part of a new pilot program to invest in the county's small cities and towns to stimulate economic development.

The port will invest $8,700 for a new fire suppression system for Bucoda's Odd Fellows Hall, built in 1920, and $10,000 to repair, expand and enhance the City of Yelm's Mosman Corridor. A portion of those funds will be used for a preliminary engineering report on the corridor project.

A qualifying project must have an equal match from the town or city receiving port funds.
