Puyallup poice officer Nathan Cusick walks past the huge National 9/11 Flag during ceremonies in the state Capitol Rotunda in Olympia on Friday, July 22, 2011. The flag, originally flown at the World Trade Centers and heavily damaged on Sept. 11, 2001, is being stitched back together with patches of retired flags from across the country. The flag was on display in Olympia as special honorees, first responders and the general public took their turns making a stitch in the Washington restorative patch. Robert Clary of Yelm made the first stitches in honor of his brother, Ronald Clary Sr, and nephew U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Ronald Clary Jr., who were designated "Local Heroes" after being nominated by Ronald Clary Jr.'s wife, Heidi Clary. The flag tour - which has already been to 40 states - is a fund raiser for the New York Says Thank You Foundation. Cusick is a member of the Metro Pierce Honor Guard. (Tony Overman/Staff Photographer)
