Mason County District 3 Commissioner Jerry Lingle was found dead Friday afternoon in his home, according to the county coroner. He was 57.

According to Coroner Wes Stockwell:

Lingle’s son found his body. An initial investigation has revealed no signs of foul play. An autopsy is set for Monday.

Lingle was elected this year to a term that was set to expire in 2014, according to information on Mason County government’s website.

He served on numerous boards and commissions, including the Criminal Justice Working Team, Lewis-Mason-Thurston Area Agency on Aging Council of Governments and Mason County Board of Health.

Lingle ran for the three-member commission as an independent. Because he wasn’t affiliated with a party, it was unclear Saturday how his position would be filled.
