Frank Gore has his new deal from the San Francisco 49ers, 13 days before the season opener.

Agent Jason Rosenhaus said Tuesday that Gore had agreed to terms on a three-year contract extension that keeps him with the team through 2014.

Gore is set to make $21 million, with $13.5 million guaranteed.

The team hadn’t made a formal announcement. That likely will come today.

The 28-year-old Gore, third on San Francisco’s career rushing list heading into his seventh NFL season, had repeatedly said he wanted a long-term deal before the Sept. 11 season opener.

The 49ers also had wideout Michael Crabtree in uniform for the first time this season, participating in practice. While coach Jim Harbaugh didn’t rule out Crabtree for the exhibition finale against the Chargers on Thursday, he said that is seemed like a long shot considering he hasn’t done 11-on-11 drills yet.

The Niners believe Crabtree will be ready for the season opener Sept. 11 against Seattle at Candlestick Park.

KASAY STILL KICKIN’

A day after attending a back-to-school event like a typical 41-year-old father of four, former Seahawk and longtime Panther John Kasay was on a morning flight from Charlotte to New Orleans and resuming his two-decade career as an NFL kicker.

“That’s how fast life changes,” said Kasay, who joined the Saints in time to practice, two days after Garrett Hartley hurt his right hip while kicking an extra point in New Orleans’ victory at Oakland on Sunday night.
